Hamden Baseball Celebration

By Anthony Morgano

Hamden will host a baseball celebration on Saturday, Aug. 11 at 4 p.m. The event will take place at the Hamden Town Pavilion, and former players are encouraged to bring memorabilia to display.

Baseball, snacks and music are some of the things to look forward to at the event, where America’s pastime, and its Hamden roots since 1825 will be celebrated.

There will also be scrapbooks and old videos at the pavilion at 4 p.m., showing Hamden baseball throughout the years. Three-inning softball games for former players are also scheduled for the event, and participants who wish to hit but not run can have people run for them.

Souvenirs like T-shirts and commemorative bats will be sold at the event, as well as raffle tickets for a stained glass picture of a man fishing.

Swing on over to Hamden on Saturday to celebrate America’s pastime.
