Featured speaker Cindy Menges of Delaware River Solar, headquartered in Callicoon, detailed how solar energy could be accessed without the need of purchasing and maintaining a solar energy system.

Delaware River Solar is a local, start-up community solar company that serves residential, small commercial and agricultural customers.

Contracting with Delaware River Solar as an energy supplier allows customers to participate in solar energy projects which ultimately saves energy and reduces the composite carbon footprint.

Delaware River Solar customers, Menges said, receive a guaranteed 10-percent savings on their electricity bills. Public Service

Commission regulations require participants to be NYSEG customers. Though a service contract is required, Menges said, customers can cancel their contract at anytime with no cancellation fee.

Delaware River Solar is hiring. The company is seeking sales associates, a project engineer, a construction manager, a health and environmental coordinator, master electricians and installation staff.
