The new retail shop features a product line of natural, organic, bio-dynamic and sustainable wines and spirits that contain low sulfites and have little or no added sugars. The store’s offerings, owner Kortney Lawlor said, are sourced from small batch producers.

The name was derived from the wildness of the grapes which are harvested with minimal intervention and no pesticides. “Common,” Lawlor said, because she believes wine should be a right, not a privilege. “Everybody should be able to afford a bottle of wine,” Lawlor said.

The store offers a large selection of wine for less than $15 a bottle.

In addition to its large selection of wines and spirits, there are free wine tastings every Friday and Saturday from 4 - 7 p.m., as well as other events like a pop-up lingerie shop on Sunday, Feb. 11 from noon to 3 p.m.

The addition of Wild Common Wines & Spirits to the Andes business community points toward the entrepreneurial ingenuity that is helping to redefine the economic profile of the area, said Delaware County Chamber of Commerce President Ray Pucci.

“When business thrives, communities thrive,” Pucci said of the growth of the Andes business community over the past several years.
