Masonville

Bil Keane: “A hug is like a boomerang-you get it back right away.”

January is almost over for classes. Good luck with the tests that come at the end of January.

The Masonville Federated Church is having its first pancake breakfast for 2017 on Saturday, Feb. 4 serving from 7 until 10:30 a.m. The menu includes pancakes, home fries, scrambled eggs and sausage. Served buffet style with the real maple syrup and other syrup, along with donuts and beverages. Servers that can help those that need it. All-you-can-eat breakfast, so come with your friends, neighbors and family. There will probably be a bake sale also that day so you may take home some goodies for later. The next breakfast will be Saturday, March 4.

Here on the Farm, the calves are still being born and are doing well as the fellas can keep them. The barn is getting full with heifer calves. Some bulls have been born lately, too, with more heifers freshening from the heifer barn, which means spring is just around the corner, so get ready, folks. The weather is supposed to be getting colder, and some mixed precipitation with snow, rain and freezing rain, the weather reporters say. Be careful on the roads and watch for the tractors and manure spreaders - it has to be spread daily. Keep farmers in your thoughts each day and hope with the new administration maybe there will be improvement for all.
